More on the new “Commission Blueprint” production

It looks like the name for the new product, will be “Commission Blueprint Evolution”… or, as many folks seem to call it… “ComBlue Evo”.

From the bits and pieces I’ve picked up on the forums… this should be out sometime this month (June, 2011).  No hard date yet has been released.

And.. no hard details on what it contains… although I don’t think it will have any new tools.  It’s mostly going to be new, and revised, techniques.

And one last bit of info… it’s free for IMA subscribers, so if you haven’t bought IMA, you might want to grab it now.

Niche Reaper-like IMeye Update?

Nathan recently asked on the forums, if there could be an update to IMeye, to mimic one of the features of Niche Reaper.

Mainly… a way to filter and see what .com, .net, etc domains are available.

Steve’s response was:

something WAY better than this is already being completed

stand by…it will be mind blowing

So… while I don’t yet know what this new tool is… it looks like there is either an update to IMeye, or a completely new tool, already in the works.

I’ll try to dig up some more news for you.

KWB2 – “failed to connect to Google”

If you get an error about “can’t connect to Google”, it’s likely cause Google has changed the GKT (Google Keyword Tool) again.  The Blueprint team will have an update out shortly to fix it.  They are pretty quick about this (and it’s happened several times… Google is always updating their keyword tool).

Rumor has it… with the current change to GKT, you have to be logged into your Google account, in order to get CPC amounts.

Which means… Keyword Blueprint 2 will need to use your Google login details, or you won’t get any PPC/CPC dollar amounts.

Major Update to Blog Blueprint

A major update to Blog Blueprint will be released tomorrow, Tuesday, May 3rd. There will be a brief Blog Blueprint outage from 7:00 am GMT to 8:00 am GMT. Once the changes are in production, you’ll see the many changes and new features that have been added.

  • On the home page of Blog Blueprint, you will now be able to filter your posts by their status (pending, approved, declined, published or all) as well as by blog post ID.
  • You will be able to set the number of blog posts you want to be published each day, up to the maximum of 20. If you only want 3, or 5 or 11 posts published every day, you can set that number by using the slider bar located on the home page.
  • You will be able to indicate how many posts you want listed on each page of your account. By default, 20 posts are listed per page, but you can now change that number to show as few or as many posts as you want. For those who have many pages of posts, increasing the number of posts shown on each page can greatly reduce the total number of pages.
  • You will find 2 new icons listed on the far right hand side of the post listings. One icon allows you to view any post that has been declined. This icon is dark red with a white line across the middle. The other new icon is blue with a capital B in white. Clicking this icon will allow you to view where your post is published, but only for a period of 7 days. At the end of 7 days, the icon will become unclickable. We hope this is an equitable compromise between the folks who didn’t want the URLs revealed and those who did. You can see where the post was published, but only for a limited time.
  • Email notification wording has been changed, and emails will be sent to alert you when your post has been approved, declined, and published.
  • A preview window has been added to allow you to double check your post before you submit it for publishing.
  • The Title field has been expanded to allow longer titles, along with a character count so you know when you’ve reached the maximum of 50 characters.
  • The Content box has been increased in size to make it easier to read as you enter your post content.
  • Several issues were corrected that caused some folks when creating links.

If you run across anything you don’t fully understand, please don’t hesitate to submit a support ticket and we’ll be glad to help you out.

We sincerely hope you’ll find these improvements helpful and that they will enhance your experience with Blog Blueprint. We thank all of you for your patience as we worked to make many of your suggestions a reality.

If you have additional suggestions or ideas about Blog Blueprint or any of the other tools and products, please be sure to post them at http://ideabank.blueprintcentral.com/.

RLISense – WordPress AdSense theme – Has been updated

There is a new update to the RLISense theme.

Here’s what you need to do.

Update Instructions:

1) Grab the latest version from the bottom of this post.

2) Log into your WordPress website, and copy down all the Options you entered. You’ll need to re-apply these after installing the new theme. Be careful to note the ID or Title of the articles you want to appear on the home page.

3) Go into the Themes section and activate the Twenty Ten theme.

4) Delete the RLISense theme.

5) Click Install Themes, then Upload.

6) Upload the new theme you downloaded in Step 1.

7) Activate the new RLISense theme.

8) Go into the options and reconfigure the theme. Enter the same values you had before.

What’s Changed:

You’ll notice some of the options are easier to configure now (like choosing the articles that appear on the front page).

There are now ads that appear on the individual pages too (to help maximize ad earnings).

This theme is now a child-theme of Twenty Ten. That means you MUST have the Twenty Ten theme installed.

And don’t forget… if you don’t have the original “Old School AdSense Template”, it’s in the IMA Members area… you can sign up and grab that template too! (it’s a static HTML template, not designed for WordPress).

Tweaking Google Services

MacWorld has a nice article about Google Services (you know, Google Docs, GMail, youtube, etc).

The article is called Nine secret tricks for Google services

It shows how to leverage your Gmail account to setup filters, some tips on using Google Docs, and more (read the comments too, some great tips there as well).

Pick yer Poision… er… Browser!

Chrome, FireFox and IE
PCMag has a good article titled: Chrome 10, Firefox 4.0, or IE9? The Browser Choice

They cover some of the latest updates from Microsoft, Mozilla and Google.

Personally, I’m a huge fan of Chrome, but, in the Internet Marketing world… you often need more than one browser, so… I also have IE9 and FF4 installed. FF is always open to let me use Article Blueprint, a 2nd GMail account, and a second Twitter account.

I use IE9 for testing web development (It will render as IE7, 8 or 9). It’s also used when I need a third browser (w/out sharing logins/cookies).

Templates and FavIcons

I was looking for some information the other day, and stumbled across two good sites I wanted to share.

The first, shows how to setup the favicon for your website. It explains the file format, how to “link” it, and other gotchas and tips.

If you aren’t familiar with what a favicon is…

favicon explanation

A favicon is a small image used by web browsers, displayed next to the address bar, bookmarks and in tabs next to the page title which makes it easier to recognize a website or page.

The second bit I wanted to share, was some templates. I have NOT used these, but I’ve looked at them, and they are pretty good. There are both “traditional” (aka static) web templates, and some wordpress templates.

Backlink your Backlinks?

Lots of folks are asking:

Do you need to get your backlinks indexed? Should I build backlinks to my backlinks?

Some folks say yes… some say no, others say “it doesn’t hurt, and likely helps…”. That’s where I’m at. I’ve been using Magic Submitter to do that. I’ll post more later on my use of it, and I have some training videos to help too…

But, here’s my Blueprint Insider tip. Rumor has it… that soon, we’ll be able to see the backlinks you’ve built in some of the tools… so you’ll be able to build backlinks to those backlinks. :)

All I can say is… HURRY UP!

IMeye gets an overhaul

IMeye is getting some pretty good updates. Here is a partial list:

  • 5-10K fresh keywords per day into IMeye, swapping out older, low volume keywords
Approx 3 million total keywords in IMeye at any given time.
  • IMeye only uses the “exact” match now.
  • For a new keyword to appear in IMeye it will need to meet the criteria of a minimum 3,000 searches a month (Exact Match) and be either a Gold Star or Green Tick.
  • Starting in April, we’ll be collecting even more keywords, so the volume added each day will also increase.
  • A “When Added” column will tell when a keyword was actually added to IMeye.

If you don’t have IMeye, then go try it out. They have an excellent trial (fully functional).
